San Fran

Even though my favorite stops on our trip are the natural ones, San Francisco had some fun sites to see. Of course, the first two things that come to mind when you think of San Francisco are the Golden Gatge bridge and the cable cars. I was impressed by the Golden Gate bridge. It's huge! The view down the hill towards the bay is from a cable car looking down at Alcatraz Island. We saw 4th of July fireworks standing on Pier 41 of Fisherman's Wharf. This is the first fireworks I ever watched in which I practically froze while watching them. It was about 53 degrees with a very stiff anc cold bay wind blowing. It felt like 40 degrees. We were all bundled in sweatshirts and jackets and blankets. The average temp in July in San Francisco is 59 degrees. That's not enough of a summer for me. All in all, I liked Seattle more than San Francisco. Same cultural diversity, similar marketplaces with Pike Place and Fisherman's Wharf, but Seattle was cleaner and the weather was much better.
